Obituary

Darrel K. Emerson, of Franklin TN, passed away at his home on May31, 2015, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was sixty-five. Mr. Emerson was born in Bay City, Michigan, to Ken (deceased) and Ida Emerson on July 14, 1949. His greatest joys in life included family, traveling, and teaching. He spent over four decades in the classroom and was awarded the Substitute Teacher of the Year Award for Franklin High in 2014.

He is survived by his “best girl,” Joy Emerson, loving wife of forty- five years; children-- Chad (Betsy) Emerson, Amy (Ed) Baynes and Brett (April) Emerson; eleven grandchildren--Owen, Nate, Dawson, Caden, Mallory, Cullen, Corban, Addison, Eden, Sifen and Elias; sister Diane (Atik) Epik; and niece Kendra Epik.
