Thomas Wesley Rogers, seventy-two, a retired professor at David Lipscomb College suffered a fatal heart attack yesterday while leading a prayer at Otter Creek Church of Christ. Rogers of 4701 Churchwood Drive, was dead on arrival at Baptist Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roebuck Chapel in Birmingham. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery there.

A native of Lincoln County, Tenn., he was married in 1929 to the former Miss Rena Cruce, who survives. He received the bachelor of arts degree from Birmingham-Southern College in 1927 and the master’s degree from the University of Chicago in 1928. He also received the law degree from DePauw University in 1948.

Rogers taught at David Lipscomb from 1963 until his retirement in 1970. From 1938 until 1964, he was an official with the American Finance Conference in Chicago. In 1966, Rogers went to Korea for the Otter Creek Church of Christ Mission Fund. At the time of his death, he was president of the Korean Christian Education Fund, Inc. He was listed in “Who’s Who” in finance and industry. Survivors, in addition to his widow, include two daughters, Nancy Lou and Rena Carolyn Rogers, Nashville; and two brothers, Aaron and John Davis Rogers, Birmingham. The family requested that contributions may be made to the Korean Christian Education Fund, Inc., P.O. Box 40077, Melrose Station, Nashville.
