John G. Campbell, Contractor, Dies

John Gordon Campbell, sixty-two, a carpenter and contractor, died yesterday morning at 9:45 o’clock at Protestant hospital of a heart ailment, following a long illness.

Services for Mr. Campbell, who lived on Otter Creek Road, will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at the John C. Roesch funeral home by J. W. Brents and Phillip Speer. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetary.

Born in Sequatchie Valley, near Jasper, Tennessee, he was the son of the late O. C. and Mrs. Mary Greer Campbell. He moved to Mount Pleasant as a child and lived there until he came to Nashville about 1904.

He was a member of the Otter Creek Church of Christ. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Henrietta Burnett Campbell; a daughter, Mrs. Henry Bullard of Antioch; four sisters, Miss Alice Campbell, Mrs. Carey Potts, Mrs. Fannie Mackie, all of Nashville, and Mrs. Dora Brickman of Washington, D.C.: four brothers, Foster, Luther, Chester A., and Henry Gray Campbell, all of Nashville.
