Mrs. Mary Henderson Funeral Today
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Cope Henderson, eighty-five, Granny White Pike, Brentwood, will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Roesch-Patton funeral home, 1715 Broadway. O. Jennings Davis, Jr., J. W. Brents, and Charles Chumley will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
Mrs. Henderson, mother of U.S. Marshal John Herbert Henderson of Nashville, died of a heart ailment, at 7:40 a.m. yesterday in Baptist Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past two years. The former Mary Ann Cope, she was born in Warren County, the daughter of John and Asenath Womack Cope. She moved to Nashville as a young woman. She was married to Mr. Henderson, employee of the old Tennessee Power Company, in 1900. He died in 1921. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Otter Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to her son are three daughters, Miss Florence Henderson, Mrs. A.L. Empson, both of Nashville, and Mrs. W.E. Putman, Orlando, FL; two other sons, Austin Henderson, Nashville, and Albert Henderson, Anniston, AL; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Frank D. Cope, Nashville.
