Hime, Stanley Everett

3/19/2018
Brentwood, April 11, 1924-March 19, 2018.

We celebrate a long life, well-lived, as Stan left us to mourn our beloved husband, Daddy, uncle, brother-in-law, grand and great grandfather and friend. Loved and respected by all who knew him, he loved and respected people back. He never took advantage of his size, yet his loved ones were never more secure than when in his presence.

Son of Isaac B. Hime and Ruth Girard Hime; husband of Rebekah (Becky) Hanson Hime, Daddy to Michael Hime, Glenda Thurman (deceased), Nancy Brown, Timothy Hime, and Rebekah Jo Hoben. Grandfather to ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; uncle to Lois Russel and Ruth Boyd; and brother-in-law to William C. Boyd.

A US Navy veteran of WWII, Stan also was a movie projectionist, photographer, artist, novelist, song writer, and punster, with a quick and busy mind. He was a graduate of Hume Fogg High School.

“Sixty-three years he loved me, took care of me, repaired and made things for me and the family. He could repair anything, make anything, and leaves a home built with his own hands for his family. He will be missed by many. I will always love you—Stan, the Man”—Becky.

A memorial service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 508 Franklin Road, Franklin, TN 37069, Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation preceding at 9:30 a.m., Tom Gildemeister presiding. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to this church or the Center for Living and Learning in Franklin.

The family extends thanks to Morning Pointe of Brentwood and their wonderful Memory Care unit. Also thanks go to Doctors Stanley Bernard, Ben Alper, David Heusinkveld, John Warner, Jesus Berdeja, David Horowitz, Bradley Rudge and Paul Thomas.
