When Otter Creek’s ladies’ class began the Christmas Store for the old Youth Hobby children that they tutored (now the YES Holiday Store), groups of women would shop for bargains in children’s clothing and toys for many weeks. Dottie Thomason was one of the most avid shoppers, finding or bargaining for a half-dozen marked-down jackets or a stack of pants, keeping track of her purchases on a little note pad or in her head.
